_ Hi everyone! We are the Beaderz.

We use some of the 3Rs to help Earth. We reuse and reduce. We make used things into pretty bracelets. We reduce the amount of garbage in the world. We use old magazines, used hairbands and broken beads. If you want to buy our jewelry, you can buy them in the ISS Fun Fair.  We give the money we earn to charity. This product is for girls and boys – young and old.

Please bring us your old magazines, used hairbands and broken beads!!!

Chinese new year lion dance ! 02/02/2012

The lion dance for Chinese New Year came to ISS Singapore! It was amazing and terrific. The men that were doing the dance were really talented. They were jumping on each others' shoulders and doing great tricks. They threw oranges in the air so little kids could catch them and get good luck for Chinese New Year. The men who were playing the music were very talented, the music was AWESOME ! They played it loud and clear so the people from far & near could hear.
We both wish you a happy new year. Gong xi fa cai !

A different way to display acrostic poems! 27/01/2012

In Grade 4 we've recently been introduced to Prezi, a zooming presentation tool, so we can look at different ways to present information or tell stories.
Lauren, from G4Jk, used Prezi to present her acrostic poem in a more dynamic way than a plain old Word document!
Good work Lauren!

4JK Assembly 20/11/2011

G4s just finished our unit Where We Are in Place and Time, and we learned about why people explore, problems they face, how their explorations have changed the world, and many other interesting facts. Then we became explorers ourselves and documented our explorations using a green screen and iMovie.

4JKers just had an assembly based on Christopher Columbus' explorations and a trailer on 4JK Explorers. Watch our assembly here!

Roving reporters spot lots of fun going on for Deepawali 03/11/2011

Hi, we are Meghna and Chiemi, the roving reporters from 4SN.

Last week it was Deepawali, or the Festival of Lights. Deepawali is celebrated because Rama, one of the Indian gods, was going to the forest with his brothers and his wife. After they came back all the villagers were so happy to see them so they had a festival of lights.

We learnt how to make Rangoli from our teacher aid  Ms.Radhika. We made the Rangoli by sprinkling colored powder on the outlined paper.  Ms. Radhika put glue on the paper.  They look beautiful and really colourful. The Rangoli took 2 days to dry. It was hard to make because the powder was hard to stick on the glue.

We also got some  Indian sweets from Ms. Radika, after we finished making the Rangoli. During Deepawali Indians eat a lot of sweets so they can think good thoughts and have a prosperous life. The sweets are made with lots of ghee which is a fatty Indian butter. They are very yummy though!!!

Look up an explorer from your home country and share with the rest of us what s/he did and when. It could be an early or a modern day explorer.

*Remember to cite where you got your information just in case someone wants to read further about your explorer (google.com is not a source!).
